Determine wheel stop placement based on stall depth and vehicle overhang. Standard placement is 24–30 inches from the front curb or wall. Mark anchor hole locations with chalk or paint.
Drill two 5/8" diameter holes, 3–4 inches deep, at the marked locations. Use a rotary hammer drill for concrete or asphalt. Clear debris from holes before setting anchors.
Insert 1/2" x 12" rebar pins or anchor bolts into the drilled holes. Pins should extend 6–8 inches above the surface to engage the wheel stop's anchor holes.
Lower the wheel stop over the anchor pins, aligning the cast-in anchor holes with the pins. The stop should sit flush and level on the surface.
Verify the stop is stable and does not rock. For permanent installations, grout around the base. For removable installations, the pin engagement alone provides adequate retention.
Always wear PPE — safety glasses and gloves during drilling and placement.
For asphalt surfaces, use a longer anchor pin (14–16") to reach stable substrate.
In freeze-thaw climates, allow for thermal expansion — do not over-grout.
Reflective inserts should be installed before placement for maximum visibility.
ADA-compliant placement requires stops to not protrude into accessible routes.
For heavy truck applications (TB series), use 3/4" anchor pins minimum.
